Comments

Paul Roberts

Is this a swimming worm -with a bent body?

K&E Stopper worms bring back memories as well. My all-time favorite though, is a 6-inch firetail worm. Preferably, a curlytail. Hookmaster Pro produced my most recent favorite of this type.

Nice article Brian.

Paul - yes.

Don, there are a lot more brands of these pre-rigged worms out there than I realized. Did a Google search for "pre-rigged worm" and found a bunch. As far as I know though, Touchdown is the only one manufactured right here in Indiana.

Here's one more manufacturer from IN.

Kelly's Annealed Baits Inc.
P.O. Box 11294
Fort Wayne, Indiana 46857

I'd forgotten about their 'Plow Jockey'. Love that name for some odd reason.

Terry Anderson

The "downside" (if there was one) to this bait, is I know of several bass who have met their demise/death due to deep hooking with those small hooks. While I have caught my fair share of bass on the original Creme worm, yes, the one with the spinner harness, too many guys 'deadstick' these baits and they get inhaled up to the leader. Hopefully, your description of how YOU fished this bait will serve as a lesson to all!
